South Milford Cricket Club Junior Section

Junior News

Junior coaching night will be Wednesday at 6pm until 7pm (Year 1-3) or 7:30pm (Year 4-8). Older children will be encouraged to practice on a Tuesday evening alongside the senior players, 6:30pm until 8:30pm or dusk. Practice will continue every week, weather permitting, until the end of the summer term, except for half term week (28 May). All boys and girls are welcome to join us on our Swan Croft ground, off Mill Lane. We do request that parents of year 1 and 2 children remain on the ground during practice.

We have entered teams at Under 13, Under 11 and Under 9 age levels. The U13s play their matches on Friday evenings, the U11s on Monday evenings and the U9s on Sunday mornings.

Under 9 is school Year 4 and below, Under 11 is Year 6 and Under 13 is Year 8.

South Milford Community Primary School has again entered an Under 9 team in the Drax Cup for Yorkshire schools, with the final to be played in front of the crowd at Headingley Carnegie Stadium. We will be providing assistance to help the school run this mixed team; we must have at least 2 girls in the side.

Membership fees will be £30 this season. This should be handed in to Jan Griffin by the second session attended along with a completed registration form. Forms can be emailed to you on request, downloaded in advance from the website or collected at practice.

Please try to wear whites for matches. A trip to the Donnay outlet shop at Freeport should find you a bargain. The U11s and U9s will be wearing the yellow Surridge tops again this year. Please ask for details.

We will be repeating our trip to Headingley Carnegie to see Yorkshire play a Twenty20 match against Durham on Sunday 22 June at 2:30pm. Please note that this is a Sunday afternoon match and the Under 9 squad will be travelling to Headingley directly from their morning match at Oulton.
